Abstract
2, 6-Diamino-4-methylenimino-s-triazine (DMST) is considered as the simplest of methylenimino-type intermediate in the thermo-hardening process of methylolmelamine in solid state under special condition, but it has been not yet observed experimentally.
In this paper the electronic properties and the UV absorption spectrum of DMST was discussed by the molecular orbital method. The calculated results suggest that DMST is unstable and the 1st band of UV spectrum near 260nm is a key-band which distinguishs from the UV bands of methylolmelamine.
