Abstract
The polyurethane resin is synthetic resin which is polymerized by urethane bond derived from the reaction between hydroxy group and isocyanate group. Isocyanate group reacts with water to form urea bond and generates carbon dioxide. Urethane foam produced by using this reaction accompanied with gas generation.
Recently, by using high reactive isocyanate, technical innovation in the field of the molding process such as RIM (Reaction Injection Molding) and RRIM (RIM reinforced by fillers), has progressed, and further new applications are widely developed.
Industrial applications in the field of thermal resistant foam have been developed such as isocyanurate foam by trimerization of isocyanate, polyoxazolidone foam derived from reaction of isocyanate with epoxide and a foam from reaction of isocyanate with acid anhydride
Various kinds of new polyols and isocyanates have also been developed in addition to conventional polyether polyol and polyester polyol to satisfy diverse technical requirements.
