Patients who have undergone major resections for cancer in the oral cavity andoropharynx may mainly have disabilities of deglutitoion and speech inteligibility. We attempt to evaluate these disabilities by the way of questionnaire, VTR, Videofluolography, measurements of oral pressure in swallowing and interviewer rate of speech. It is necessary to classify these examinations into subjective and objective evaluation as following. As the subjective evaluation, dietary contents, volus movement in oral cavity, misswallowing and velopharyngeal unclosure were interviewed in questionnaire. The condition of oral and pharyngeal phase in deglutition were observed by using Videofluolography which seems to be one of objective evaluations. These results might take advantage of materials for improvement of quality of life (QOL) in head and neck cancer patients after treatment.
