The characteristics and severity of symptoms in patients with left unilateral spatial neglect vary from individual to individual. To accurately understand each patient's symptoms and develop an appropriate rehabilitation program, a comprehensive evaluation from multiple perspectives is essential, along with a careful analysis and interpretation of the results. In this paper, I describe the characteristics of desk-based tests, the Japanese version of the Behavioral Inattention Test, and a behavioral observation assessment using the Japanese version of the Catherine Bergego Scale, as well as the interpretation of their results. Additionally, I discuss several tests for personal neglect, a symptom that frequently co-occurs with unilateral spatial neglect. Finally, I introduce various methods for evaluating unilateral spatial neglect using information technology, which is expected to play an increasingly important role in the future.
