Computerization of document processing is now rapidly spreading through the appearance of Desk Top Publishing and the document processing system. As a result, the amount of document data made and stored by these systems is increasing, which causes the problem of the interoperability of document data, This paper reviews the technical summaries and the progression of ISO standardization, refering Office Document Architecture (ODA) and the document description languages, SGML, DSSSL and SPDL.
