It is most important how to measure the spectral reflectance and transmittance of the image for color image analysis and evaluation. In this paper, the principles of the measurement of color; spectral reflectance, spectral transmittance, Ruther condition, multiband photometry and NCS (Natural Color System) are introduced and the definition of CIE 1976 (L*u*v*), (L*a*b*) spaces is also described.
