Abstract
Composition and editing systems can be categorized into batch-type systems and interactive-type systems. Early systems were mainly batch systems, but the development of computer technology has realized practical interactive systems. While batch systems are suitable for large scale text processing where fixed formats appear repeatedly, interactive systems are suitable for the composition of complex styles which include many figures and images. In the following, TCL and LATEX are introduced as typical examples of batch systems, and IPS and SAIVERT-H are introduced as typical examples of interactive systems.
