The Measurement and Specification of Colors

Abstract

Up to this point, CIE color matching functions, standard illuminants and sources, and chromaticity diagrams are introduced. The CIE colorimetric system has been very successful and has been used in fields of a wide variety. However at the same time, some weak points have been revealed on the way. In particular, the uniformity of color spaces has brought about serious problems and its improvements have been vigorously investigated.
