Abstract

In Nihon Reiiki we find some setsuwa narratives which are composed on the basis of "kiki" or with the same themes as "kiki". These narratives, however, shouldn't be assessed to have only inherited characterististics of "kiki".They consist of other genre of literatuure based on new concept of literature and new philosophies of life. I've chosen the transmitted story of "Chiisakobeshi" in Nihon Shoki and discussed how it was transformed into a setsuwa narrative in Nihon Reiiki.
