Palladium-catalyzed Cross-coupling of 4, 6-Disubstituted 2-lodo-1, 3, 5-triazines with Monosubstituted Acetylenes

Abstract

The palladium-catalyzed alkynylation of 4, 6-disubstituted 2-iodo-1, 3, 5-triazines [1] (substituent a, NMe₂; b, Ph; c, OMe) with monosubstituted acetylenes [2] (substituent a, Ph; b, COOMe; c, CMe₂OH) afforded the corresponding cross-coupling products [3] in moderate yields except for the case of [2 c]. The cross-product [3 ac] reacted with [1 a] to give bis [4, 6-bis(dimethylamino)-1, 3, 5-triazin-2-yl]acetylene.
