Abstract
Objective: The 5530 Clinic Health Screening Center conducts cervical cancer screening. Most of the cervical cancer screening recipients in our center are repeaters. We performed an attitude survey for reference to increase the number of screening repeaters larger and to plan a new method of endometrial cancer screening. Methods: We conducted the survey via making inquiries to women who came to our center to undergo medical examination from 2004-12-1 to 2005-2-28. We obtained replies from 523 respondents (response rate: 28%). Results: 80% of the respondents had experienced cervical cancer screening. Half of women who had not undergone cervical cancer screening replies, “I'm healthy. ” or “I feel embarrassed. ” Conclusions: It is clear that even women who undergo medical examination and pay attention to their health don't understand that cervical cancer is different from endometrial cancer and that there are no subjective symptoms in the early stage of cervical cancer. From the results of our survey, we recommend that every medical institution make more efforts to explain about uterine cancer.
