The purpose of this study is to investigate the usability evaluation of grasps of detergent bottles. The results revealed the following three points: (1) Four fingers could be inserted into the handle clearance area of a detergent bottle that was estimated to be easy to pour. (2) When grasping the handle of bottles, the hand width, (finger 2 to 5 distal joint breadth) was found to be 1.03 times wider than a hand with fingers outstretched. (3) The distance between the center of gravity and the center of rotation of the bottle influenced its usability. When the entire contents of the bottle were poured a bottle with sloping shoulders provided better usability than a bottle with square shoulders.
