Abstract

Cases of senile keratosis, and xeroderma pigmentosum on the heads and faces which had been collected from 5 universities in the West Japan during the last decade were respectively 44, and 30 instances. In cases of senile keratosis, the sites of eruptions included the cheek, forehead, retroauricular region, and chin of 23 instances whereas the anterior, lateral and vertex of the head instances, the dorsum and apex of the nose of 5 instances orbital region of 2 cases, and one instance each of the eruptions on the occipital and auricle. In cases of Bowen’s disease, all instances encountered were the females including 2 instances on the cheek, and one each on the nucha, and the lip. Xeroderma pigmentosum were found more in the malesthan in the female with ratio of 3 to 2, while 81% of the total cases were reported younger than 4 year of age in the onset of the eruptions. Pathological and therapeutic observations were also presented with review of some literatures concerned.
