Abstract
A statistical investigation was performed on the dermal lesions observed in a total of 1300 newborns, concerning the incidence, days after birth on the occurrence of the initial lesion, days showing the lesion, or appearing rate, and the conditional relationship between the newborn and the mother. As a result, (1) the days after birth on the appearance were 0.9 day at the earliest in such lesions as purples, nasal sebum, and humeral polyp, also, 5.4 days at the latest on the symptom of sudamina ; (2) the days showing the lesions were 2.0 days at the shortest on toxic erythema, and 8.4 days at the longest on nasal sebum ; (3) the prematurely delivered newborns showed significantly different lowering of the appearing rate of toxic erythema, maculous erythema, punctual erythema, desqua mation, and reticular livedo, as compared with those of the normally delivered newborns ; (4) all the eruptions were not needed of the topical treatment except for the perianal dermatitis complicated with erosion.
