Abstract
A 55-year-old woman suffering from rheumatoid arthritis was treated with D-penicillamine. After 6 months of penicillamine therapy, she developed pemphigus folliaceus. Histopathologic examination showed a cleft in the epidermis and acantholysis. Direct immunofluorescens method, using guinea-pig esophagus as a substrate, was negative. After decreasing and discontinuing the drug, the eruption disappeared.
