Abstract
For the previous 3 and a half years, we have experienced 5 patients with subcutaneous dermoid cyst, three of these cysts being located in the upper lid. One of these 3 was a 2-year-old boy, and the other two were 27-year-old and a 24-year-old woman. Prior to surgery, an assessment of the depth of the cyst should be determined, and here xeroradiography is most useful. In addition, computer tomography and consultation with ophthalmologists is beneficial. Histologically, an epidermoid cyst with skin appendages was characteristic; granuloma with hairs was observed in all patients.
