Abstract
Angioleiomyoma and solitary glomus tumor thought to be of vascular origin were observed and compared electronmicroscopically. Clinically, both tumors were painful and were similar in macroscopical appearance, consistancy and characteristics of the sections. However, electronmicroscopically, it was assumed that angioleiomyoma was a proliferate tumor of smooth muscle cells from the tunica media of venulae while the solitary glomus tumor is an organoid hamartoma derived from an arteriovenous anastomoses.
