Electrical Burn Injury and Bladder Disturbance

Abstract

A man came into contact with a high tension electrical current (60,000 volts), and suffered severe burns on the both forearms and lower extremities. Severe abdominal pain was also present. Urological examinations revealed a disturbance in the epithelium of the bladder. Emergency cystostomy and various other treatments led to recovery. Excercise and the use of a prosthesis are now being taught for this patient.
