Abstract
A twenty-five-year-old woman with atopic dermatitis for more than twenty years developed a macular pigmented erytematous lesion at the sun-exposed sites after sea-bathing. The skin lesion resembled a poikiloderma-like skin lesion in its clinical and histological findings, the type which is often seen at the neck in severe cases of adult-type atopic dermatitis. Patch test and photo-patch test findings in this case revealed that her pigmentation could have resulted from photo-contact dermatitis induced by prednisolone valerate acetate ointment and ultraviolet ray irradiation. The skin lesion in this case may provide additional evidence for the development of poikiloderma-like skin lesions in cases with atopic dermatitis.
