Abstract
The present report describes a case of sarcoidosis in a 48-year-old woman with an erythematous plaque lesion on her face. The biopsy specimen from a skin lesion of her face showed an epithelioid cell granuloma. The chest X-ray examination showed bilateral hilar lymphadenopathy (BHL). The level of serum angiotensin-converting enzyme was moderately high. The patient had undergone a splenectomy due to Banti’s syndrome 10 years before this presentation. Results of the present case lead to the conclusion that splenectomy in patients with sarcoidosis associated with Banti’s syndrome does not improve the codition of the disease.
