Abstract
In recent years the number of patients with Tsutsugamushi disease has increased in Japan. We report a case of Tsutsugamushi disease which occurred in October, 1989. In addition, statistical observations were performed on 27 cases of Tsutsugamushi disease in Saga prefecture during the period from 1983 to 1989. The 13 cases seemed to have become infected in the forest and 7 cases in the field. 17 cases occurred in November. Fever and skin eruption manifested themselves in all cases. Eschar was detected in 26 cases. Lymphadenopathy was seen in 18 cases.
