Abstract
A rare example of extraskeletal chondroma is reported. A 66-year-old woman presented with a hard, painless tumor on her right sole which was clinically similar to a traumatic cyst. Histopathologically, the tumor was well circumscribed and composed of a proliferation of chondrocytes and rich cartilaginous stroma associated with a scant amount of fibrovascular tissue. Based on the above findings, in addition to traumatic cysts, extraskeletal chondroma may be also one of the differential diagnoses for a hard mass on the sole.
