Abstract
Prognosis of 105 liposarcomas was examined by making use of the histological classification both by W. H. O. and by Enterline et al..
Patients with liposarcoma, occuring in thigh (39%), retroperitoneum (20%) and others, consisted of 49 males and 59 females with the average age of 48.9 years old.
The 5-year cumulative survival rate was 62.4%. In the classification of W. H. O. “a” type had the best prognosis, “d” type the worst and in Enterline's classification “III” type the best, “V” type the worst.
Recurrence of liposarcoma occurred of 52 patients, and metastasis in 31 patients. The commonest metastatic site was lung, the nest lymph node, the third retroperitonum, the fourth liver and finally kidney.
