Abstract
An analysis of clinicopathological features of sixty-six patients with osteosarcoma examined at Kagoshima University between October 1956 and March 1975 has been presented.
Twenty-seven, who have been observed since April 1970, and three unoperated cases were excluded, because of too short duration of the observation and lack of histological evidences respectively.
1. Eleven cases had survived more than 5 years, with 30.6% of 5 year survial rate.
2. Osteosarcoma originated in tibia had more favorable prognosis than that in femur.
3. The common features shared by more than half of the eleven cases were osteolytic and fibroblastic, but these roentgenographical and histological features were independent.
