The authors applied Ace, Methaphyllin and Cepharanthine to 37 patients of peptic ulcer andchronic gastritis. 24 patients were treated with Ace. Among complaints, this drug was mosteffective for pain, 82% of 22 cases having shown the improvement of this complaint. On theother hand, heartburn, acid regurgitation and discomfort in the epigastrium improved in 70% of 20 cases. Niche disappeared in 1 of 6 cases. Side effects were dryness of the mouth, blurring of vision, urinary, retention and obstiption. 7 cases were treated with Methaphyllin. Good effect was recognized in the lowering of hyperacidity and the improvement of subjective symptoms. The side effects were slight. 6 cases were treated with Cepharanthine. Improvement of the pain was recognized in 2 cases, and other complaints improved in I cases. Side effects were abseni.
