Objective: Here, a case of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) associated with cervical malignant tumor in which endovascular treatment was effective is reported.
Case Presentation: A 64-year-old man was presented with a complaint of a right cervical mass. After being diagnosed with cervical lymph node metastasis from cancer of unknown primary, decreased visual acuity, diplopia, and papilledema in the fundus were observed. Cranial MRI revealed obstruction of the right sigmoid sinus and decreased venous outflow to the posterior neck. Since lumbar puncture revealed an increase in intracranial pressure, endovascular treatment was performed with the aim of prompt recanalization of the venous sinus. After the treatment, the neurological symptoms gradually improved, and radiochemotherapy was started for the cervical tumor.
Conclusion: Prompt recanalization by endovascular treatment was performed for CVST associated with cervical malignant tumor, and a favorable outcome was obtained without serious complications.
