Objective: We report a case of acute cerebral venous sinus thrombosis treated using the stent anchor with mobile aspiration technique.
Case Presentation: A 52-year-old man admitted to our hospital with headache and general malaise, followed by a progressive disturbance of consciousness. Anticoagulation therapy was immediately administered to him because image findings implied cerebral venous sinus thrombosis. Cerebral angiography revealed an extensive venous reflux disturbance in the right cerebral hemisphere. We performed mechanical thrombectomy using the stent anchor with mobile aspiration technique. The occlusive sinuses were recanalized, and the patient was discharged to home with mRS1.
Conclusion: Mechanical thrombectomy using the stent anchor with mobile aspiration technique might be considered an effective treatment method for extensive sinus thrombosis.
