Abstract
It has been well known that 2', 3'-nucleotides are produced from yeast RNA by alkalihydrolysis.
Additionally, the authors have found that 5'-nucleotide-like substances are produced from this alkali-hydrolyzate of yeast RNA by heat treatment in solid state.
These 5'-nucleotide-like substances have been isolated with the use of ion exchange resin, Dowex 1×2, and identified by column chromatography, paper chromatography, paper electrophoresis, ultraviolet absorption spectrum, rosaniline reaction and 5'-nucleotidase as authentic 5'-nucleotides.
