Abstract
This study aims to clarify the transformation of rice distribution in Thailand from the perspective of the rice processing industry that is positioned between production and the market, and to review changes in the social environment surrounding rice farmers in recent years. In consideration of agricultural statistics and efforts of advanced rice farmers in the central region who are sensitive to market requirements, commercial rice production in the central region is explored. In Thailand, the rapid expansion of modern trade has paved the way for the establishment of a certified food safety management system in the market in addition to market economics, and has promoted the implementation of sustainable agriculture.
