1. Starvation experiments of ten days, twenty days and thirty days were carried out and the changes of acid phosphatase activity were observed on the liver of Oryzias latipes.
2. The activity of acid phosphatase is obviously intensified temporarily by starving for ten days and then dereases rapidly as the duration of starvation become longer.
3. In the final stage of starvation the enzyme activity remains positive only on the nucleolus.
This study was performed with the aid of The Subsidiary Fund for Science Promotion from Keio-Gijuku given to M. Ihnuma, the Assistant Professor of anatomy.
