Immature mice of both sexes were injected every other day with 0.05 or 0.45 mg of salivary gland hormone (“Parotin” prepared by Teikoku Hormon Mfg. Co., Ltd. ) from 30 days of age onward. Animals were killed at 39 and 49 days of age. Pituitaries obtained were histologically examined.
Acidophiles indicated de g ranulation and enlargement of the cytoplasm, but the occurrence of acidophiles did not vary from that in the normal controls. These changes were more marked than in mature mice dealt with in the previous study (Adachi, '60).
