Abstract
Recent research reveals that the feedback loop of circadian clock gene affects lipid metabolism as well as sleep. In this review, I summarize why cholesterol and food regulate the feedback loop of circadian clock gene affecting important circadian cis-elements, RORE, E-box, D-box, CRE, PPRE. Vrille homologue E4BP4/NFil3 plays an important role for food entrainment and fasting inducer hormone FGF21 expression. Recent advances of post-transcriptional and post-translational regulation of Per2 gene including Mybbpla and β-TrCP1/FWD1 were also summarized.
