Abstract
Challenge of this paper is to clarify the actual situation of the regulation of land and houses buying and selling by the town community in Early Meiji Osaka. The results of the examination of the actual situation of land and houses buying and selling in the three areas of Osaka,revealed the following things about regulation by the town community. The specific contents of the regulation by the town community in the early Meiji Osaka are summarized in three aspects of the following. (1) The trade was well-known to the town. (2) In order to trade was established, there was a need for the consent of the town of land and houses owner. (3) By the property was auctioned in a town, the town residents could acquire the property preferentially. In addition, this paper, when the Kocho office documents to consider the regulation by town community, showed to be effective.
