Abstract
Antroscopy has been carried out by the authors using a new serfoscope of 1 mm diameter which can be introduced into the maxillary sinus through a cannula penetrated into the sinus via the lower nasal meatus.
This type of endoscopy of the maxillary sinus is quite beneficial as it gives detailed information of the condition inside the cavity, thus permitting the corrrect selection of treatments. Color photography insidethe cavity can be taken during the procedure.
Comparison of the findings obtained during sinuscopy and those obtained by radiological andhistological examinations in chronic maxillary sinusitis is discussed.
