Abstract
A hyalinizing clear cell carcinoma (HCCC) arising in the base of the tongue is reported herein. A 65-year-old man presented with hemosputa. A biopsy suggested the presence of a malignant tumor. The tumor was localized in the left base of the tongue and was endoscopically excised using a transoral approach. The tongue was then reconstructed using a set back tongue flap method. Eighteen months after the operation, no evidence of reccurence or distant metastasis has been seen.
