Abstract
A 74-year-old woman complained of headache, fever, vomiting and dizziness. Although her tympanic membrane appeared slightly reddish, CT scan and MRI study revealed a large cerebellar abscess, left otitis media and mastoiditis. MR venography showed a sigmoid sinus thrombosis. She was successfully treated with intravenous antibiotics and myringotomy. Otogenic intracranial complications are relatively rare, but it is still a life threatening disease. An image study is required to investigate the patient's clinical condition and it is important to determine the best treatment for an individual patient.
