The temporal bones in seven cases (fourteen ears) of acute leukemia were studied histopathologically. The ear symptoms such as hearing impairment, tinnitus and vertigo were examined in four cases (57%). The leukemic infiltration and hemorrhage into the middle ear were observed in four cases and the leukemic infiltration of bone marrow in five cases. There were extensive leukemic infiltrates into the scala tympani of the basal turn, the saccule and the posterior semicircular canal along the vestibulocochlear nerve in the meningeal leukemia, which the leukemic infiltration were observed into the cerebrospinal fluids.
