Trends of the study and development of electronic paper

Abstract

Electronic paper is a promising concept for a new readable medium that combines the merits of both paper and electronic displays. This new medium is also expected to be used for the electronic newspaper and the electronic book, and such developments are being eagerly pursued. This paper presents the goal of electronic paper to be achieved, the current trend of development, current studies on human-interface issues, and relevant application fields.
