Novel integration technology suitable for resonant tunneling diodes

Abstract

Resonant tunneling diodes (RTDs) are promising devices for ultrahigh-frequency applications, particularly, THz signal sources. However, there are some problems preventing their application, such as their bias instability, complex fabrication process, and cost. In this paper, we describe our attempts to overcome these problems and also some of the applications of RTDs.
