In recent years, more than one billion high-sensitivity Hall magnetic sensors or Hall elements made from InSb, InAs and GaAs thin films or thin layers have been produced annually. Their major application is in the production of high-quality small actuators known as direct current drive (DC) brushless motors or Hall motors, which are used in video cassette recorders, personal computers and many kinds of electronic systems. The very important role of Hall magnetic sensors may be reviewed and explained with reference to their applications.
