Photometric and colorimetric measurement techniques for light sources in general lighting

Abstract

JIS C8152 and CIE127 have been used for the measurement of the optical properties of LEDs. In order to improve the reproducibility of the measurement, it is important (1) to use a calibrated standard LED, (2) to measure the properties at the CIE- averaged LED luminous intensity, (3) to use an integrating-sphere- defined JIS C8152 and so on. In measuring LED modules or luminaires, it is important to reduce the errors caused by (1) spectral mismatch, (2) the directivity of LEDs, (3) the temperature characteristics of LEDs and so on.
