Image information captured as digital signals can be processed in various forms. The effective combination of optical systems and signal processing enables the realization of versatile imaging systems capable of refocusing and extending the depth of field. In this note, some examples, including a light field, PSF engineering, multi-aperture imaging, and compressive sensing, are introduced, and their utility in measurement is shown.
