Abstract

The application of a wireless CO2 sensor to the next generation air conditioning system is presented. The next generation air conditioning system can independently control the temperature and humidity, and is aiming at the achievement of energy conservation with maintaining the degree of the comfort. Moreover, the air ventilation is controlled to reduce the power consumption by the air blower. For this, it is necessary to measure not only the room temperature / humidity but also the CO2 concentration at several points of the office room. The method to estimate the number of people in the air conditioning zone by using software sensor technique is also discussed.
