On the utilization to sustainable urban and regional planning, the new development of future remote sensing and visualization techniques is expected. In this paper, the analysis of urban / built thermal environment is introduced as an application field of remote sensing. The effectiveness of the airborne high-resolution remote sensing data is confirmed by showing land coverage classification maps using the multispectral data and seasonal variations and daily variations of the heat island phenomenon visualized in the multi - temporal thermal images. As some examples of future remote sensing application, the application of remote sensing on the analysis of urban thermal environment that linked with GIS and the environment simulation technology is shown.
