Abstract

In current production environment in Japan, it is difficult to introduce and maintain a manufacturing factory composed of many workers. From a view point of strategy for merchandising, the following considerations are required to maintain business in the environment: understanding of customer needs and shipping new products to the market earlier than the other companies. Therefore, based on a strategy for international environments, multi-commodity and varying quantity production system should be managed between a stage of product design and a stage of manufacturing process. The production process should be separated into manufacturing process and marketing process to manage effectively. In addition, technologies of different manufacturing processes are commonalized as well as parts and modules and specific technologies should be hidden to prevent the other companies from catching up with our technologies. In this presentation, a framework of PLM is discussed considering a strategy for international production environment. Concretely, production information is separated into data for structure of products and data of process for manufacture of products to maintain business management in international production environments. Specific data structure is developed to store these separated data. In addition, The structure is developed to manage the data for maintenance of technologies and design products in a long period.
