Abstract

Drivers are thought to be able to be assisted by presenting visual information. However, inappropriate presentation such as obstructing the driver’s vision, or being excessively conspicuous, may reverse the operation. We proposed an information presentation method that does not disturb driving by considering the peripheral vision area and the attractiveness of information using eye tracking and saliency map. Then we presented visual information based on the proposed method and verified the effect of the consideration of saliency on the eye movement of the subject. By considering saliency, the information became less likely to overlap the gaze points of subject and the time that subject looked at the information was shortened.
