Abstract

In sightseeing guidance, a map design that effectively guides a pedestrian to a destination is required. In this paper, we aimed at walking guidance with a high walking guidance effect based on landmarks in particular, and as a fundamental study for that, walking experiments on various shaped routes were conducted. As a result, we succeeded in evaluating the characteristics of the “easy-to-miss route” and evaluating the effect of the land-mark on the map from the viewpoint of the walking guidance effect and the viewing behavior.
