Abstract

Short pulse lasers at the wavelength range of 2 μm have several applications such as material pro-cessing, gas sensing, pump source for MIDIR optical parametric amplifier and supercontinuum generation. De-velopment of highly efficient high power 2μm lasers are required for those applications. In the talk, we report the first Kerr-lens mode locked Tm solid state laser and the All normal dispersion Tm:ZBLAN fiber laser.
