There has been a further shift to leverage the large amounts of data from the Real World, including EHRs and disease management records or personal health records. The advancement of personalized medicine, smart medical devices, and rapid growth of e-health have further increased the size of and widened the potential of RWD. We are, however, confronted with a number of issues and challenges that need to be addressed. We will consider how we could promote the use of RWD for clinical practices, for patients, and for the society, although it is not necessary to strictly follow this format.
