Abstract

Natural disasters can be classified into disasters which may occur regardless of location and disasters which occur in specific disaster prone areas. In Japan, disaster prevention measures for disasters which may occur regardless of location have been successful by posing strict seismic-resistant structures and fire-proof structures to newly built structures. On the other-hand, though one of the fundamental disaster prevention measures for disasters which occur in specific disaster prone areas is the restriction of building structures in such disaster prone areas, this measure has not been discussed seriously. In our presentation, we discuss the fundamental disaster prevention measures for disasters which occur in specific disaster prone areas.
